Hey Dave,
I just wanted to thank you for planting the seed for my own fundraising campaign for Malawi AIDS orphans. After reading your first post a few months ago, I headed out for hill training in preparation for the Ottawa marathon. By the time I got home, Project 42 was born.
http://www.givemeaning.com/project/project42.
Before I run 42km at the end of May, I'm using social media to find 100 people to donate $42 for an orphanage we will volunteer at this summer.

A strange twist of fate, that training hill is 4.2 km from my apartment.

Anyway, thanks again.

just tweeted this page and followed you on twitter. I applaud what you're doing and have had a similar idea, although I'm still recovering from health issues. But I will compete again.

thanks for the inspiration, keep it coming!

Hi Dave,

Sounds successful to me. You raised a fair sum of money over a couple months, and increased your online profile.
It would be interesting to see how this would reflect on a future effort. Whether money raised, and subscribership are directly related.
