Win A Ticket To The Art Of Marketing Conference

We’re heading into conference season again soon, with a whole slew of events including Social Media Week (next week), PodCamp Toronto (Feb 20-21), SXSW Interactive (March 12-16) all coming up in the next six weeks or so.

One event that’s caught my attention several times is the upcoming Art of Marketing Conference in Toronto on March 2 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. With a great lineup of six bestselling authors, there’s something for anyone working in a communications role at this event:

The good folks at The Art of Productions, who are organizing this event, have offered me the chance to attend this event. What’s more, they’re also giving me one more ticket to offer to a lucky reader of this site.

I’ve seen a few other contests for tickets to this event, so I’ll change the format up a little and give some love to other blogs. For a chance to win the ticket, just leave a comment on this post and include a link to a recent blog post you recommend other people read, and say why you think it’s worth checking out. It doesn’t matter whose site it is; just make it a good one!

I’ll pick a winner on Feb 8, so make sure you enter before then (and make sure you include a real email address when you submit your comment or I won’t be able to contact you!).

Note: This contest is now closed. Congratulations to Tamara Gruber on winning the ticket!

For those who’d rather be sure of getting their ticket, readers of this site can use promo code SK23 to get their ticket at $50 off, for just $349.

In the meantime, check out the video for the event:

Hi Dave,

I wrote this article about social network vs Google = by referral only, and why it is so important to dive right into our social networks to find good referrals to exceptional company with excellent service through our peers, friends, and families. You need TRUST not Rank!

Looking forward in winning a ticket to The Art of Marketing in Toronto thorugh your blog . Thanks Dave for reading.

The Art of Marketing conference has a great line-up. If I can make the trip, I'll buy a ticket to attend (in the event I don't win one).

Lots of buzz here and elsewhere on metrics. I found this blog entry - "The fetishization of metrics", very provocative. http://bit.ly/c4w7ur

Socialedge.org is a program funded by Jeff Skoll (a good Cdn entrepreneur)'s Skoll Foundation.

HI, Dave;

TED Talks never fail top inspire and open my mind to new ideas. From Gehry to Godin, I learn from my heroes and meet many new ones. Ted believes in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately the world. Pick a subject you know nothing about and I dare you to not be moved. http://feeds.feedburner.com/tedtalks_video

In return for a ticket, I will spread the word on the initiative of your choice.

Have a great day.
Sarah

Hi Dave,

What a great event to be giving away tickets to! I would love to attend and as such consider Caleb Gardener's post regarding Awareness Scale and how it can be used to understand how social media, public relations and advertising should work together. I love the idea of an integrated machine working together for a common goal but I found that in the workplace these departments are often silo'd and people aren't talking to one another.

Enjoy and good luck to all!! Can't wait to go through these comments and read the awesome posts people are recommending.

Cheers,

Aleksandra

Great contest idea! Here's a link for you:

I recommend checking out this website if you like seeing innovation at work. Monocle is a truly globalist magazine and website founded by a Canadian journalist. It also throws parties, sells merchandise, releases CDs, maintains off-line boutique stores in London and LA, and in the US single issues sell for $10 each and the subscription price is $150 annually (10 issues), charging extra for web archives access + to-the-door delivery.
The publishing industry should take note and place Monocle on its watch-list.

Hi Dave, and thanks for the opportunity to win a ticket to this great event!

There are so many great posts out there, and it's difficult to pick just one, but recently I found this post especially rich in tips and advice that directly apply to our digital industry. Even if it doesn't win the content, I sincerely hope people here get the chance to read it and reflect on it.

Thanks again and take care,

Hey Dave, what a line up for this conference! Would love to attend...so here is my blog post recommendation: http://www.yummymummyclub.ca/how_twitter_can_help_a_baby_boy_see___

AmberMac blogs for YummyMummyClub.ca, and this particular post reminds us of the power of social media, and gives excellent guidelines for newbies using Twitter to create awareness and support for those in need.

The power of blogs (and social media in general) is the ability to share; to connect; to mobilize, and to transform. No greater current example of this is Wyclef Jean's blog and tweets. Not only did he provide information and insight other media organizations were slow to report, he used his blog to raise a staggaring amount of funds for Haiti earthquake relief.

I've been enjoying all the content over at AriWriter recently. What I like about Ari's blog is that it is well-written, practical, full of useful tips and advice, and not overburdened with deep thoughts. I only have so much time to sit and ponder the philosophical musings about the future of social media, PR, ROI, etc so this blog is a refreshing change. Since we are talking about leaving comments and links to other blogs, I thought this was a good post to share:

Wow thanks for the link Tamara! Ari, I really enjoyed your blog! I just love learning new stuff about social media! Thanks so much! Subscribed and followed!

Cute post Ari! I wonder how much of an influence the dad had; some of the writing seems pretty mature ("thanks for stopping by") but setting my perma-cynicism aside, it's delightful!

Hey Dave,
I was reading a post this morning that caught my eye because I have been thinking a lot about PR agencies, specifically, and how social media presents so many opportunities to them and their clients. But I will let the great Danny Brown tell you more...
