Twitter's reliability recently has been... well... awful. During the introductions to the opening day of Toronto's Mesh Conference yesterday, I suddenly thought: "What happens if Twitter goes down (again) today?" On a whim, I decided to give live-blogging tool Cover It Live a try.
By posting information online, we're making a choice to make it available to other people. We take that for granted. If someone doesn't realize they're making that choice - if they don't realize that's what's happening - is it still right to mine that information in the same way?
As the old saying goes, you need to know where you're going before you can know how to get there. Likewise, before you can plan out your strategy... before you even start to think about your media products or event... you need to nail down your objectives.
